In this chapter and next chapter, we introduce estimation methods based on various
criteria. In Section 2, we discuss the MVDR (Capon) beamformer. In Section 3 and
Section 4, we develop two important subspace based methods: the MUSIC (Multiple
Signal Classification) algorithm and the ESPRIT (Estimation of Signal Parameter via
Rotational Invariance Techniques) algorithm.
