zernike Abstract : An algorithm of subpixel edge detection based on.ZOM is presented in this paper. ZOM not only may detect the line edge hut also may detect the curve edge. In the paper the properties of ZOM is analyzed and a gray step model of image is established with taking line edge as example. The computing formulas for subpixel edge are gained after analyzing principle of subpixel edge detection. Three orthogonal moments is only required for subpixel edge detection. After computing the amplitude and vettical direclion of edge, maximum of amplitude is searched along vertical direction in order to locate subpixel dge. The detailed algorithm is provided. Experimental results show that subpixel edge deteetion on ZOM has high locating precision and strong robustness to noise.
