AzureTraffic Manager是基于
DNS的流量管理解决方案，功能包括端点监控、故障检测以及自动将流量重新路由至您应用程序内正常运行的节点。
通过 Azure
Traffic Manager配置文件，您能够定义一套端点并控制流量流至这些端点的方式。可以对配置文件进行配置，将请求路由至最近的端点、在端点列表内进行故障转移或者将流量平均路由至所有端点。所有配置文件均支持持续的端点监控、故障检测和自动将流量重新路由至正常运行的端点。
配置文件包含的端点可以是云服务（包括
web role/worker role 和 IaaS VM）、Azure网站和外部端点，所有端点在同一配置文件中一视同仁。这样，流量就可以在多个
Azure 区域或在 Azure部署和内部部署之间进行全局分配。
