This paper describes basic database partitioning concepts, and provides examples of some of the tasks required to implement partitioning with Oracle E-Business Suite.
Partitioning can bring significant benefits in the areas of performance and manageability. However, if used improperly, it can hamper these same aspects of you system. It is therefore important to realize that the information in this paper is in itself not a substitute for the careful testing that should be performed before partitioning is implemented on a live system.
